Jack L. Stiles, a man of unwavering dedication and profound love passed away on January 18, 2024. Born on August 24, 1956, in Red Bud, Illinois, Jack was the beloved son of the late Edward M Stiles and Frances L. Stiles. After a lifelong career, he retired from General Motors, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment.
Jack's interests were as diverse as the treasures he sought at flea markets. An avid collector and seller, he specialized in knives, swords, and various miscellaneous items, each with a story and history that fascinated him. His curiosity and appreciation for the past were evident in everything he did.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Jack had a deep love for sports, particularly the Dallas Cowboys and softball. He not only cheered for his favorite team but also actively engaged in coaching. Jack coached his daughter's softball team, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of those he mentored. Later in life, he continued this legacy by coaching his grandchildren, and passing on his passion for the game.
Jack's memory will be cherished by his loving wife, Bonnie Stiles, and his children, Angela (Randy) Holden and Alison Bowen. The joy he found in family extended to his grandchildren: Elizabeth Holden (Ross) Davenport, Rebecca Holden, Matthew Holden, Colton Pence, Jada Bowen, and Logan Bowen. His great-grandchildren: Cain Davenport, Chase Davenport, Hazel Davenport, and Benjamin Pence, brought immense happiness to his life.
Survived by his brother, Dennis Stiles, nephew Nicholas Stiles, niece Nicole Stiles, and sisters-in-law: Barb (Tony) Janini, Carol (Pat) Lobstein, Sandy (Bill) Schiermeier, and Mary (Richard) Lehnen, Jack leaves behind a close-knit extended family who shared in his joys and sorrows.
The pallbearers at Jack's service will be Randy Holden, Matthew Holden, Colton Pence, Logan Bowen, Ross Davenport, and Nicholas Stiles. Honorary pallbearers include Tony Janini, Pat Lobstein, Bill Schiermeier, and Richard Lehnen—individuals who stood by Jack throughout his remarkable journey.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in honor of Jack to the American Diabetes Association and the American Liver Foundation, causes close to his heart.
