J. Everette Witherow

July 16, 1925 — April 28, 2010

Mr. J. Everette Witherow, age 84, a long time resident of the Sandy Hook Community, passed away on Wednesday, April 28, at West Meade Place in Nashville.

Funeral services for Mr. Witherow will be conducted 11:30 AM Saturday in the chapel of the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. William Snider and Pastor Wesley McDonald officiating. Entombment will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.

Born July 16, 1925 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Douglas and Reda Vernon Witherow and the husband of Sarah Workman Witherow, to whom he was married to for 64 years. He retired as maintenance supervisor from Union Carbide, was a Master Mason, member of the Mt. Pleasant Masonic Lodge #610, past state counselor in the Junior Order of American Mechanics and enjoyed traveling. He was a US Army veteran of WWII and attended Freedom Hill Bible Methodist.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son: Jim Joy Witherow of Hendersonville; grandson: Dr. Shane Witherow of Nashville; brother-in-law: Glenn Kinnard of Columbia; sister-in-law: Orez Workman of Anniston, AL; special nephew: Tommy Workman of Mt. Pleasant; nephews: Bill Karen Kinnard, Doug Julie Kinnard and Mike Sharon Kinnard, all of Columbia, Steve Leigh Kinnard of NY, Leonard Joann Workman, Bill Patty Workman, Bobby Workman, Jerry Workman, all of Longview, WA, Kenneth Workman of Pensacola, FL, Stanley Janet Workman of Springfield, MO; nieces: Martha William Snider of Stewart, FL, Lynn Dennis Sharp of Springfield, MO and Patricia Workman of Anniston, AL. He was preceded in death by a sister: Ann Kinnard.

Pallbearers will be Chris Cummins, Paul Bowman, Tony Adams, Gilbert Clark, Ryan Matthews and Dennis Sharp. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Mt. Pleasant Masonic Lodge #610.
