Irma Mildred Clifton

Mrs. Irma Mildred Clifton, age 82, a resident of Columbia, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mrs. Clifton will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery.

The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 5:00 ? 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Clifton was born in Langley, Arkansas the daughter of Jetty A. and Myrtle Risner Jones on November 25, 1924. She was a past President of Unit #19 American Legion Auxiliary and La Presidente of La Femmes, Associate member of James K. Polk, Lodge # 26 of The Fraternal Order of Police and The Tennessee Sheriff?s Association.

She is survived by her husband, James D. Junior Clifton of Columbia; one nephew and Godson, G. William Karen Sharpe McCoy of New York; two nieces, Patricia A. McDevitt and Christina B. Whitaker of Minnesota; five very special nieces, Delana J. Bill Kennedy of Hermitage, TN, Cynthia L. Bill Brooks of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Solena D. Senkle of South Dakota, Gillian McCoy, Fallon McCoy of New York and one very special nephew Cameron McCoy of New York.

Pallbearers will be friends and family.

Honorary pallbearers will be Unit #19 American Legion Auxiliary and La Femmes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Edna M. George Jackson and Paula J. Bill McCoy.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Unit #19 American Legion, Girls State in Care of Barbara McAdams, 104 Park Circle, Columbia, TN 38401.
