Mrs. Irene Walton Boyd Young Bacon, 77, a resident of Brannon Ct. in Columbia, died Saturday, December 4, 2004 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bacon will be conducted Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Charles Boyd officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Monday from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at the funeral home
The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Albert Sydney and Elise Kelly Boyd and wife of the late James Porter Young. She was a retired sewing operator for Tennessee Knitting Mills and a member of West 7TH Street Church of Christ.
She is survived by a son Jim Patsy Young of Columbia; two daughters, Peggy John McCoy of Jackson, TN and Rosemary Eddie King of Columbia; grandchildren, Shawn Christopher Karen Bryan of Maryland, William Jennings Virgia Bryan of Wyoming, Michele Adkins and Sarah Lee Young, both of Columbia; several great grand children; two sisters, Ada Frank Pike of Mt. Pleasant and Mildred Gardner Head of Columbia.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Floyd Davis, Mary Ella Roberts, Beatrice Fox, and Alice Arthur McNeese; two brothers, Albert Harold Boyd and James Andrew Boyd.
Pallbearers will be Gardner Head, Jerry McNeese, Wayne McNeese, Garland Glenn, Jim Young, John McCoy and Willie Boyd.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1212, Columbia, TN 38402.
