Irene Elizabeth Henson

March 24, 1927 — October 21, 2006

Mrs. Irene Elizabeth Henson, age 79, a resident of Smith Hollow Road in Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Saturday, October 21, in Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mrs. Henson will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. John Rushing officiating. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery.

The family will visit with friends on Monday from 4:00 ? 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Alfred and Ora Jane Shepard Kelley. She was the wife of the late James Riley Henson who preceded her in death in 1972. She was a homemaker and a member of the Freewill Baptist church.

Survivors include four daughters: Mary Jane Terry Holcomb, Shirley Harlan Potts, and Brenda Staggs, all of Mt. Pleasant and Linda Darlene Hallinan of Columbia; two sons: Albert Jackson Henson of Pulaski and Bobby Dean Henson of Mt. Pleasant; one sister: Dorothy Overstreet of Nashville; two brothers: A.W. Kelley of Texas and Bobby Kelley of Cookeville, TN; 10 grandchildren. She is also survived by her name sake, a special great-granddaughter: Tracy Elizabeth Irene Hallinan and 12 other great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons: Jeremy Holcomb, James Holcomb, Chris Henson, Nathan Henson, Matthew Henson, Terry Holcomb and Harlan Potts. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Iversen, Dr. Quinn and nurses of ICU/CCU of Maury Regional Hospital.
