Irene Ashe Mimms

Mrs. Irene Ashe Mimms, age 91, a resident of Lewisburg, passed away on Monday, October 1, at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mimms will be conducted Wednesday at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Ezell Rose officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will visit with friends from 4:00 ? 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
She was a native of Jackson Co., NC, the daughter of the late Hamilton and Maggie Rankin Ashe. She was the wife of the late Thomas C. Mimms. Mrs. Mimms was the secretary for Pleasant Heights Baptist Church. She loved painting pictures, quilting and going to the flea market. She was a member of the Riverview Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons: Gary Carden of Sylvia, NC and Thomas C. ?Tommy? Cherry Mimms of Pulaski; grandchildren: Eric Hamilton Mimms of Nashville and Edward Randall Mimms of Prospect, TN; great-grandchildren: Jimmy Watts, Jacob Randall Mimms, Dustin Tyler Mimms and Benjamin Ryan Mimms, all of Prospect, TN.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Aslinger, Bill Shelton, Loyd Witherspoon, Jimmy Black, Tony Scott and Kirby Howell. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Gaylon Harris, Virgil Collier and Pastor Carlen.
