Mrs. Ira V. England Martin, 87, widow of Cecil Martin and long- time resident of Hay Long Avenue in Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mrs. Martin will be conducted Friday, March 28, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. at the Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Carlen and Rev. J.C. Christian officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the daughter of the late J. M. and Ida Warren England. She was a butcher at H. G. Hills Grocery in Columbia and Mt. Pleasant and was a former cafeteria worker at Mt. Pleasant Elementary School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant where she was a member of the Choir and former member of New Song Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and loving mother.
She is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Billy G. Holloway of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Faye Claude Brawner of Columbia, TN, and Peggie Keith Clodfelter of Bellevue, TN; a son, David Marcia Martin of Nashville, TN; a sister, Mary Etta Grooms of Mt. Pleasant, TN; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Holloway, Bobby England, Ricky Martin, Roy Wayne Grooms, Danny Grooms, Arnold Grooms, Charles Grooms, and Tony Grooms. Honorary pallbearers will be the Skilled Staff at NHC/ Hillview, sixth Floor staff at Maury Regional Hospital, Dr. Gibran Naddy, and Dr. Cary Pulliam.
