Imogene "Granny" Scott

Mrs. Imogene “Granny” D. Scott, age 80, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Mt. Pleasant Health and Rehab.

Imogene was born to Everette and Ruth Vandygriff Dale on February 25, 1936 in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee. She was married to Arthur Scott for over fifty years until he preceded her in death. She was a spirited lady who loved life to the fullest. She enjoyed singing, dancing and traveling. She loved gospel singings and her Lord. She was a wonderful grandmother who loved her grandchildren dearly.

Mrs. Scott is survived by her children: Sheila (Perry) Vick of Columbia and Allen Scott of Columbia; grandchildren: Crystal (Randall) Himes, Jason (Lori) Scott and Misty (Antionio) Ponce; siblings: Ernest “Hop” Dale, Glenn (Helen) Dale, Danny (Annie) Dale, Mildred Faye Martin and Shirley (Terry) Davis; great-grandchildren: Breonna Himes, Katlyn Himes, Amelia Scott, Arianna Ponce and Giovanni Ponce; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two children: Thomas Ray Scott and Verba Jean Scott.

Funeral services for Imogene will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee. Burial will follow in the Pisgah Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Thursday, April 28, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.

Her nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family would like to thank the staff at Mt. Pleasant Health and Rehab for their care of Mrs. Scott with special thanks being given to Janette McKennon.
