Ida Mae Pierce Johnson

Mrs. Ida Mae Pierce Johnson, age 68, a resident of Tindell Lane in Columbia, passed away on Sunday, June 15, in Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mrs. Johnson will be conducted Wednesday, June 18 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Bro. Dalton Cole officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 4:00 -8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Born in Giles County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Nida Corter Pierce and the wife of John W. Johnson Sr., to whom she was married to for over 50 years. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Mt. Zion Church of Christ in Mt. Pleasant.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons: John W. Johnson Jr. and Carl Sherry Johnson, both of Columbia; sisters: Nancy Pierce and Charlotte Glass, both of Summertown, Barbara Wayne Fuller and Linda James Barker, both of Mt. Pleasant; brothers: Charles Ellen Pierce, Thomas Pierce and Alton Mary Pierce, all of Summertown; granddaughter: Milly Johnson of Columbia. She was preceded in death by a sister: Betty Bolton

Pallbearers will be Randall Rummage Jr., Robert Rummage, Paul Gibson, Ron Fuller, Robert Allen and Walter Bolton Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Randall Rummage Sr., Teddy Fralix, Richard Russell, Dr. Ralph Barr, Dr. John Simmons, Dr. Motaz Toban, Dr. Amit Choksi, members of Mt. Zion Church of Christ and close friends of Tindell Lane.
