Hugh L. Henson

Hugh L. Henson, age 86, formerly of Mt. Joy, Tennessee, most recently of Linden, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Decatur County General Hospital. Mr. Henson was born July 7, 1926, to the late Ernest Henson and Ethel Sims Henson in Mt. Joy. Hugh was a veteran of the United States Navy and was active in World War II. He married Katherine Grose in 1946 and shared over 60 years of memories with her before her passing in 2011. Hugh worked as a steam engineer and was retired from the Army Corp of Engineers. For 13 years, he was the Perry County Veteran’s service officer. He also was a very active member in the VFW Post 4973 and American Legion Post 0176. Funeral services for Hugh L. Henson will be Tuesday, April 2, at 2:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Dwight Liles officiating. Burial will follow in McClain Cemetery.
