Mr. Hubert Leon South, 74, a resident of Double Branch Road in Columbia, died Monday, December 1, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mr. South will be conducted, December 3, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Williams Columbia Funeral Home with Reverend Harold Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Limestone County Alabama native was the son of the late Cullen and Prudie South. He was the husband of Fronie Adams South. He was a retired self-employed plumber and electrician and a member of the House of Prayer Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived four daughters, Mary Frances William Bryson of Columbia, TN, Diane Christianson of Louisiana, Connie Sue David Keller of Gonzales, LA and Pamela Jean Iliff of Findley, OH; three sisters, Margie Ann Frank Nelson, Wanda Brooks and Judy Oscar Bradford all of Columbia, TN; three brothers, Carter Mary Frances South, Lonnie B. Linda South, Roger DalePatty South all of Columbia, TN; two step-sons, Charles Fitzgerald of Columbia, TN and Clay Kathy Fitzgerald of Pulaski, TN; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Leon South who died in 1980.
Pallbearers will be his nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be Fay Dodson, Marie Hobby, Dr. J. Cummins Couch III, Ray Hall and the Men of House of Prayer Baptist Church.
