Howard English Sutton

December 21, 1922 — November 6, 2005

Mr. Howard English Sutton, 82, a resident First Avenue in Mt. Pleasant, passed away Sunday November 6, 2005 at his home.

Funeral services for Mr. Sutton will be conducted Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Reverend David Nelson and Reverend J.C. Christian officiating with military honors provided by Mt. Pleasant American Legion Post #10. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the son of the late George Henry and O?Della Josephine Norman Sutton and the husband of Betty Nance Sutton. He was retired from the maintenance department at Occidental Chemicals and a member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant. He was a veteran of WWII and a member of the Mt. Pleasant American Legion Post #10 for 53 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Randy Debbie Nance, Jimmy Julie Lott and David Kay Lott, all of Mt. Pleasant; two daughters, Cathy Akins and Brenda Wright, both of Mt. Pleasant; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Effie Boshers Sutton; four sisters, Lucy Foster, Kate Mangrum, Mattie McMurtry and Mamie Simmons; four brothers, Raymond, Elbert, Frank and Russell Sutton.

Pallbearers will be Jason Nance, Matthew Lott, Dereck Clifton, Kyle Wright, Tommy Lyon, Brian Davis and Nathan Runions. Honorary pallbearers will be the retirees of the Maintenance Department of Occidental Chemicals.
