Howard Edward Farris

Mr. Howard Edward "Doc" Farris, 75, of Davis Drive in Columbia, died Friday, May 23, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Farris will be conducted Sunday, May 25, 2003 at 4:00 p.m. at the Williams Columbia Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the son of the late Herbert and Mary Johnson Farris of Columbia and the husband of Peggy Marie Russell Farris. He was a retired truck driver with M.C. West Construction and attended the Church of Christ.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Farris is survived by four daughters, Bettilynn Roy Clark of Mt. Pleasant, Norma "Sis" Mike Goatz of Columbia, Barbara "Bob" David Travis of Hampshire and Gina Farris of Columbia; two sons, William Farris and Steve Sherrie Farris all of Columbia; four grandsons, Jeff Clark, Charlie Goatz, Ben and Brent Farris all of Columbia; four granddaughters, Leigh Ann Chris Hill, Kristy Tim Scribner, Carey Marcus Albright and Jenni Jo Jimmy Chatman all of Columbia; a great-grandson, Clark Hill of Columbia; a God-child, Promila Crumley of Columbia; and two sisters, Annie Ruth Howard and Polly Billy Holden both of Mt. Pleasant.

Pallbearers will be Dudley McCormick, Marcus Albright, Jimmy Chatman, Chris Hill, Tim Scribner and Wesley Roberts.

Honorary pallbearers will be former employees of M.C. West Construction, his U.T. football friends, Dr. John Maloof III and Dr. Karen Davis, with a very special thanks to Dr. Davis.
