Howard Wayne Crigger, age 64, a resident of Columbia, TN passed away December 2, 2014 at Christian Care Center in Shelbyville, TN.
Howard was born on April 19, 1950 in Maury County to the late John and Mary Crigger. Straight out of high school Howard was drafted into the United States Army and sent to serve during the Vietnam War. Howard fought in Vietnam when fighting in Vietnam was not the thing to do. He sacrificed himself for his country’s freedom. Upon his return from the war he didn’t speak for over 7 months.
Howard’s personality was kind, he had a giving spirit…”a heart of gold”… he would give anything he had to anyone that needed it whether it be food or anything he had access to. He was not just kind, but funny, he loved to tell jokes. He was a talented wood worker, who loved to build model cars.
Services for Howard will be held Friday December 5, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, TN. The family will receive friends the same day beginning at 11:00 am until service time.
Mr. Crigger is survived by his two sisters: Cathy (Dan) Compton of Franklin and Carol (Bobby) Haywood of Columbia, TN; Four nieces: Michelle (Roy) Coffee, LeAnne (Robert) Hatcher, Ashley (Dewayne) Cooper, Angie Haywood; Three nephews: Don Foster, John (Nicole) Compton and Jeremy Haywood. His many great nieces and nephews also survive Howard.
