Hortensia Perdomo Corvin

Hortensia Perdomo Corvin, age 61, of Columbia, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Hortensia was born on September 25, 1954 in Bogota, Colombia to Dimas Perdomo and Carmen Hermosa. On October 27, 1975 she married Horace Corvin and they had two children together. She worked as a nursing tech at Heritage Manor as well as Life Care Center of Columbia. Her work fit her perfectly as she had a love for taking care of the elderly. She also was an avid sewer. She lived for her four grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Her family recalls with affection Hortensia’s personality could be defined by a single word – “Spit Fire”!

Mrs. Corvin is survived by her husband: Horace “Dow” Corvin of Columbia; children: Lorenzie (Jo Ann) Corvin of Arizona and Julie (Ed) McHenry of Hampshire; grandchildren: Zac Filson, Corvin Filson, Sheridan Corvin and Landon Corvin; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and family members in Bogota, Colombia.

Funeral services for Hortensia will be held on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Bishop Ronnie Pennington officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Thursday, March 3, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Latter Day Saints Church of Columbia.
