Horace Hubert Dawson, age 86, passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 at his home in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee.
Horace was born September 8, 1928 to the late Pat Dawson and Janie Massey. He married the love of his life Elizabeth “Young” Dawson and shared 59 wonderful years of marriage with her. He was a devoted husband to his loving wife and he always put her first. He supported his wife and family by working at the post office in Mount Pleasant doing maintenance and special delivering letters. He also worked at Cook’s Furniture Company in Mount Pleasant for many years. He also worked at Williams Funeral Home for many years he truly thrived working there. In his spare time Horace enjoyed going camping and spending time with his wife and everyone else. Anyone that met Horace knew this was true, that he was a people person. He just loved to visit with anyone. He had a particularly soft spot for children; he always tried to make them smile. Horace had a humble and kind soul that was easy to see from just speaking with him for a moment or two. He was that way because he truly loved the Lord and his church First Baptist of Mount Pleasant. All that knew him will dearly miss Horace.
Horace is survived by: his wife of 59 years: Elizabeth Dawson; several nieces and nephews; and special nieces: Diane Wair and Edith Burgess.
He is preceded in death by: his brothers: James Phillip Dawson, Mahlon Dawson, Sherman Dawson, and Eugene Dawson; and his sister Mary Frances Dawson.
