Herman E. Brown

Mr. Herman E. Brown, 79, a resident of Duck River, died Monday, June 7, 2004 at Baptist Hospital in Nashville.

Funeral services for Mr. Brown will be conducted Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rick Points officiating. Burial will be in the Hardison Cemetery on Joe Brown Road, with military honors provided by the Tennessee State Guard. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born in Rayville, Louisiana, he was the son of the late Arthur and Nellie Robertson Brown and husband of Mary Ann Allen Brown. He was a retired truck driver and a veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He served in both the Navy, aboard the USS Attu and the USS Talagi, and the Army. He was awarded the Victory Ribbon and the Asiatic Pacific Ribbon. He was of Church of Christ faith.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a five sons, Ricky Charlotte Brown of Rayville, LA, William Edward ?Billy? Chau Seral Brown of Mt. Pleasant and David Wayne Brown of Spring Hill, Kenny Tracy Brown of Columbia and Timmy Brown of TN; a brother, Charles Cecil Brown of Rayville, LA; a sister, Robbie Nell Brown of Rayville, LA; twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Frederick Arthur Brown, a wife, Marjorie May Brown and a daughter, Tammy Brown.

Active pallbearers will be Billy Kennedy, Carl Brooks, Mark Kerey, Leonard Romeo, Kevin Lance and John Baker. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Lendsey, Dr. Couch, Roy Cothran, Eddie Brown and Jr. Romeo.
