Henry Davis

January 9, 1918 — July 13, 2002

Mr. Henry Davis, 84, a resident of Morris Avenue, died Saturday, July 13, 2002 at the home of his son on Nicholson Schoolhouse Road in Columbia.

Funeral services for Mr. Davis will be conducted Monday, July 15, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at the Williams Columbia Funeral Home with Franklin Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made to the Eastside Church of Christ Building Fund 1024 East Valley Drive Columbia, Tennessee 38401 or the Willowbrook Hospice, Inc. 1335 West Main Street Franklin, Tennessee 37064-3703.

The Maury County native was the son of the late Johnnie and Bertha Anderson Davis. He was the husband of Rosetta Morton Davis of Columbia. He was retired from Consolidated Aluminum and former bus driver for the Hickman County School System. He was a long-time carpenter of Hickman and Maury counties. For the past few years he was self-employed doing small engine repairs. He was a member of the Jackson Heights Church of Christ.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, Donnie Sharon Davis of Columbia; 4 sisters, Mattie Kelley of Franklin, Myrtle Potts of Santa Fe, Hulda Beard and Ethel Davis of Columbia; 4 brothers, Sanford Sarah Davis of Leatherwood, Walker Betty Davis of Columbia, Dick Dot Davis of Primm Springs, and Floyd Davis of Hampshire; 2 grandchildren, Tracey Todd Baker of Franklin and Kevin Davis of Columbia; a great grandchild, Jennifer Davis of Columbia; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Edna Bob Riley and Hattie Conner Hanes.

Pallbearers will be Arthur Hanes, Arnold Hanes, O'Neil Hanes, Wayne Garner, Bill Jones, James Deen, Jay Haywood, and Dr. Ken Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Elders and Deacons of Jackson Heights Church of Christ, all Nieces and Nephews, members of the Willowbrook Hospice Team, Dr. Joel Locke, and Dr. Patrick Murphy.
