Mrs. Helen Jewel Lovell Thomas, age 80, a resident of Wall Street in Mt. Pleasant, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Born January 4, 1931 in Maury County, daughter of the late Maynard and Louise Prentice Lovell and the wife of the late Robert Lewis "R.L." Thomas. A graduate of Haylong High School, she spent her early years working at the Kiddy Cottage Day Care, was a full time homemaker and she enjoyed in helping raise her grandson. Mrs. Thomas was a member of Porters Chapel Methodist Church.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by her daughter: Pam Billy Bolton of Mt. Pleasant; a grandson: Robby Bolton of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters: Josephine Davis and Jackye Dugger, both of Mt. Pleasant; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother: Billy Wayne Lovell; a sister: Patsy Bell; a nephew: Billy Wayne Lovell II; a great nephew: Billy Wayne Lovell III.
Funeral services for Mrs. Thomas will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, April 2, 2011 in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Calvin Lunn officiating. Burial will follow in the Arlington Cemetery.
The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Bryant Workman, David Lovell, Mike Davis, Travis Davis, Bobby "Sodie" England, John Hatcher, Roy Wayne Grooms and Danny Grooms. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray McCain, Dr. Andrew Sisk, Dr. Robert Bain, the caregivers at Signature Health Care southeast hall, Jim Dooley and staff, and the staff at Fresenius Dialysis Center.
Memorials may be made to the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1106 Nashville Hwy., Columbia, TN 38401
