Helen Brockmire

Helen Lee Brockmire was born on January 2, 1930, in Bloomfield, Missouri to her parents Chesley and Ruth Culbertson. The Lord decided to call Helen home on October 3, 2023.

She is survived by her daughter Mary Lee Tonka, son Dan Duane Brockmire and wife Lorraine, granddaughter Lori Lee Cooper and husband Alan, Grandson Eric James Tonka, granddaughter Lansida Brockmire and husband Chris, great grandson Jacob Scott Orabanec and wife McKenzie, great granddaughter Kaitlyn Lee Orabanec, great granddaughter Hailey Madison Cooper, great granddaughter Charli Rose Tonka and 2 additional great grandsons.

Helen was a cherished soul who embraced life with a profound love for literature, nature, animals, and the simple joys of her rural upbringing. Helen spent her early years on a farm, where her deep connection to the land and its creatures was nurtured. Those who knew her often heard enchanting stories of her idyllic childhood on the farm, and it was clear that these memories held a special place in her heart.

Her passion for reading was a lifelong affair. She could often be found with a book in her hand, voraciously consuming the written word. Her love for literature knew no bounds, and her home was filled with volumes from various genres, each page a portal to another world.

Animals held a special place in Helen's heart. Her kindness and compassion towards all living creatures were truly remarkable and left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her.

A memorial service to celebrate Helen's life will be held on December 7, 2023 at 12:45 PM at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery at 7931 McCrory Lane, Nashville, Tennessee.

Helen will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her. Her family loved her and take comfort in knowing they will one day be reunited.
