Hassie Attkisson Clawson

Mrs. Hassie Attkisson Clawson, 79, a resident of the Rockdale Community, died Saturday August 10, 2002 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mrs. Clawson will be conducted Monday, August 12, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home with Randy Kersey and C.V. Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the Watts Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the daughter of the late James Monroe and Nancy Chatman Attkisson. She was the widow of John R. "Blackie" Clawson who died in 1997. She was a homemaker and member of the Spencer Hill Church of Christ.
She is survived by 4 daughters, Linda Chapman and Wanda Steve Rhodes both of Mt. Pleasant, Ella Mae Dewey Dugger and Wilma James Guy both of North Carolina; 3 sons, Steve Clawson of Mt. Pleasant, Rick Beth Clawson of Columbia, and Sherrill Linda Clawson of White Pines, TN; 2 brothers, Hazel Norene Attkisson of Mt. Pleasant and Eldon Attkisson of Columbia; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 5 sisters, Esterlene Benderman, Mary Poe, Susie Robinson, Lucy Sharp, and Minnie Pierce; 4 brothers, Eslick Attkisson, Jimmy Attkisson, Edward Attkisson, and Joe Morris Attkisson.
Pallbearers will be Randy Woods, Jimmy Sharp, Jimmy Attkisson, W.C. Waldrop, Glenn Robinson, and Donald Wiseman. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Spencer Hill Church of Christ and Dr. Charles Ball.
