Harvey "Wimp" Seagraves
January 4, 1935 — May 20, 2008
Mr. Harvey "Wimp" Seagraves, age 73, a resident of New Hwy. 7 in Columbia, passed away Tuesday at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mr. Seagraves will be conducted Friday at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Ezell Rose officiating. Burial will follow in the Arlington Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
The Giles County native was the son of the late Joe Seagraves and Roda Mae Cummings Seagraves. He was retired from Tenn. Aluminum as a truck driver and also drove for the NASCAR teams of Jeff Purvis, Jeff Green, Casey Atwood and the late Andy Kirby. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters: Pam Holland and Dannie Tanker Holmes, both of Columbia; grandchildren: Chris Gray, Brian Jaclyn Gray, Payton Holland, Alien Holland, Preston Holland, Zack Holmes, A.J. Holmes, Alex Holmes and Shelley Holmes; three great-grandchildren; one brother: Gene Marie Seagraves of Columbia; one sister: Ruth Kahlor of Michigan; a special nephew: Steve Kennedy along with several other nieces and nephews. Mr. Seagraves was preceded in death by brothers and sisters: Joe, Ann, Estelle, Odell, Oradell and Geneva Seagraves.
Pallbearers will be Chris Gray, Brian Gray, Payton Holland, Alex Holmes, Jamie Kennedy and Tanker Holmes. Honorary pallbearers will be Jamie Kennedy, Claude Brawner, June Seagraves, Jason Kennedy, past and present employees of Tennessee Aluminum and Penske Truck Leasing, staff of the CCU and First Floor at Maury Regional Hospital, and Dr. Doug Kennedy.
