Harry Layne Newcomb

Mr. Harry Layne Newcomb, age 59, a resident of Hatcher Lane in Columbia passed away on Wednesday, May 21, at NHC/ Columbia.
A Memorial service for Mr. Newcomb will be conducted Tuesday May 26, at 4:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home of Columbia with Brother Terry Peery and Brother Hugh Cunningham officiating.
The Family will visit with friends Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Born December 2, 1949 in Maury County, TN. Harry was the son of the late Virginia Byrd Newcomb. He served our country in the United States Army. Harry worked in maintenance for Poplar Estates and also worked as a CNT at NHC/Hillview Nursing Home. He attended the Methodist Church.
He is survived by his children: Layne Janet Craig of Columbia, Alice Newcomb and Andrew Newcomb of Columbia; Elaine Newcomb, the mother of Alice and Andrew; two grandchildren: Tiffany Craig and Brent Craig of Columbia; one brother: Larry Beverly Newcomb of Columbia; great-grandson; Aiden McLaughlin; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a grandson: Jansen Craig and an aunt and uncle: Hazel and Beatrice Copeland, who raised him.
Honorary pallbearers will be Staff of Caris Health Care, Staff of NHC/Columbia, Jack West and Donald Burgett.
