Harry “Boy Dog” Turner Bolton, age 73, passed away at his home in Mt. Pleasant, TN surrounded by family Saturday, January 11, 2020.
Harry was born in Maury County, February 21, 1946 to the late John Howard Bolton and the late Nettie Collins Bolton. Harry was a hardworking man. He worked to provide for his family at Stauffer for many years and finally retiring form Smelter after 21 years, doing maintenance and welding there. Somewhere along those years he picked up the nickname “Boy Dog” and it just stuck. He also worked at home caring for all of his animals, he had a passion for horses and mules. His family jokes that he raised mules because at times he was stubborn as one. When he wasn’t working, Boy Dog was likely hunting or fishing. He has acquired hundreds of fishing poles for all different types of fishing, and guns for days. Whether you knew Harry or not if you ran into him you were in for a conversation, he truly never met a stranger. Harry was a good man, loving husband, father, and especially grandfather. He loved his grandchildren something fierce. Boy Dog is loved and will be missed by all that knew him.
Harry is survived by his wife of 51 years Fay Bolton; sons: Harry (Vickki) Dewayne, Roger Lee Bolton, and John (April) Jay Bolton; grandchildren; Nora Bolton, john Michael Bolton, Grace Bolton, Carla Bolton, Roger Bolton, Jr., Nina Bolton, Patrick Estes, and Savannah Bolton; brother Robert (Barbara) Bolton; and sister: Betty (Roy Wayne) Grooms. He was preceded in death by his sister Ethel Nolen; and brothers: James Howard Bolton and J. P. Bolton.
A Memorial Service for Harry will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Freewill Baptist in Mount Pleasant with Bro. William Owens Officiating.
