Harris Hugh “Red” Clayton, age 81, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022 in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.
Harris was born on July 16, 1941 to the late William Wilson Clayton and Grace “Moore” Clayton in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.
Harris was a fire chief for many years in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. He dedicated a lot of years making sure his community was safe. After retiring from the fire department, he went on to work as a truck driver. He traveled from Lawrenceburg to Nashville to Texas to Idaho all in one week and then would repeat. He enjoyed taking his son with him on these journeys and exploring different parts of the country.
Harris was good man. He devoted his life to God and went by what he said. He was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church. He loved his faith and that carried to his child, grandchildren, and greatgrandchild.
Harris has been reunited in heaven with his parents; and siblings: Leo Clayton and Virginia Clayton Moore.
Harris leaves behind his legacy in his son: Billy Clayton; grandchildren: Matthew Chance Clayton and Lillie Rose Clayton; and greatgrandson: Luxtin Clayton.
