Harold Wayne Carpenter

Harold Wayne Carpenter, age 75, passed away at his home in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee February 10, 2022. Harold was born September 10, 1946, in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee to the late Andy and Rebecca Beard Carpenter.

Harold was a lifelong resident of Mt. Pleasant. He wasn’t shy, if you got a cup of coffee with him, he could talk with you for hours. He was like that with everyone, open and kind, willing to take an interest in other people and he cared even if he didn’t know you. He had a great sense of humor. It was common for Harold to show his affection through pickin’ on people. Harold worked for over 40 years in construction, his work still stands all over middle Tennessee. When he wasn’t building, he might be raising several head of cattle or 40 rows of garden in his back yard. When he was actually relaxing Harold would go floating on the Tennessee river fishing. His other favorite pastimes were roads trips with his brothers and camping at the river with family. He was a long-time member of Swan Creek Baptist. Harold was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was just a wonderful person to be around. Harold is loved and will be dearly missed.

Harold is survived by his children: Shannon (Cara) Carpenter, Tammy Brooks, and Stacey (Kaitlyn) Carpenter; grandchildren: Aaron Jonas, Sebastian Carpenter, Micah Brooks, Kaleb Brooks, Eli Carpenter, Reese Pittman, and Maggie Pittman; great-grandchild: Mason Brooks; siblings: Paul (Shela) Carpenter, Douglas (Linda) Carpenter, David Carpenter, Shirley Chapman, Betty Jean Roberts, Linda Faye (Vernon) Goodwin, Susie Carpenter, several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and best friends: Bootie and Terry Whitwell.

The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. February 14, 2022, at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee. Funeral Services for Harold will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Bro. Chris Gowan officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant.

Pallbearers will be: Anthony Chatman, Jonathan Carpenter, Rusty Carpenter, Preston Matthews, Dustin Cantrell, Marshall Kinslow, Micah Brooks, and Jacob Hill.

Honorary Pallbearers: are members of Swan Creek Baptist Church.
