Mr. Harbert A. Phillips, age 67, a resident of Columbia, passed away on Sunday, May 6, in NHC Hillview.
Funeral services for Mr. Phillips will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Pastor Charles Westra officiating.
The family will visit with friends from 9:00 A.M. until time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
The Lexington, AL, native was the son of the late Paul Richard and Beulah Andora Mabe Phillips. He was the husband of Ericka Mae Phillips of Columbia. He received his Bachelor?s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Florida. He retired in 1998 as a Senior Systems Analyst for the St. Petersburg Times in St. Petersburg, FL. Prior to the St. Petersburg Times, Mr. Phillips worked for the aerospace division of Honeywell, Inc. and also with Argonne National Laboratories. He was a member of the Mid-Tenn Model A Club and the Pinellas Model A Restorers Club of Clearwater, FL. He was a volunteer for the Maury Regional Hospital Auxiliary and was a member of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church.
Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons: Ralph A. Amy Phillips of Pittsburgh, PA and Curtis R. Phillips of St. Petersburg, Fl; two sisters: Linda Don Putman of Hazel Green, Al and Carolyn Sonny Brown of Liberty Grove, TN. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Maury Regional Hospital Auxiliary and the Mid-Tenn Model A Club.
