Hackney H. Thomason, Jr.

May 8, 1934 — February 8, 2007

Mr. Hackney Thomason, Jr., age 72, a resident of Hartselle, AL, passed away on Thursday at the home of his son in Decatur, AL.

Funeral services for Mr. Thomason will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Buddy Holt officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery.

The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 4:00 ? 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

The Mt. Pleasant native was the son of the Hackney H. Thomason, Sr., and Connie McClure Thomason. He was a heavy equipment operator for various local firms in the phosphate mining industry and was retired from the Maury County Highway Department. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Cullman, AL. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

Survivors include one son: Randy Sandy Thomason of Decatur, AL; two granddaughters: Amanda Thomason of Decatur, AL and Melissa Boshers Ellis of Springfield, TN; one brother: Douglas ?Hoot? Thomason of Columbia; one sister: Anna Faye Thomason Robinson of Mt. Pleasant. He is also survived by the mother of his son: Mary Juanita Thomason of Mt. Pleasant and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter: Tina Marie Thomason and a step-son: Calvin Wayne Boshers.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Robinson, Matthew Robinson, Bubba Robinson, Bobby Bassham, Mike Nance and Alvin Grooms. Honorary pallbearers will be Pat Hickman, Earl Hayes and Tillman Knox.
