H. D. Whiteside

Mr. H. D. Whiteside, Jr., age 82, a long-time resident of Cheyenne Trail, passed away on Saturday, November 25, at NHC Hillview.
Funeral Services for Mr. Whiteside will be conducted Monday at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Brother Mike Greene and Brother Wayne Hardison officiating. Congregational singing will be lead by Joe Bedwell. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of the late Homer D. Sr. and Exie Mae Farris Whiteside. He was the loving husband of 59 years to Dorothy Langsdon Whiteside of Columbia. Mr. Whiteside was Co-owner of Columbia Machine Works and served in the United States Marines. He was a member of the Northview Church of Christ.
Survivors in addition to his wife include one daughter, Lynn Bill Spivey of Columbia, TN and one son, Richard Janet Whiteside of Florence, Al; grandchildren, David Becky Lovell of Culleoka, TN, Steven Linda Lovell of Columbia, TN, Rodney Barbie Whiteside of Portland OR and Jeffery Whiteside of Florence, AL; great-grandchildren, Mason Lovell and Carson Lovell both of Culleoka. TN, Ashley Lovell, Allison Clark and Amber Lovell all of Columbia, TN.
Pallbearers will be Bob Langdson, Jimmy Langdson, Phillip Lunn, Joe Purcell, Tom McHugh and Wayne Paris.
