Grace Earline Kizer

Mrs. Grace Earline Kizer, age 79, resident of the Williamsport Community, passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at her residence.

Mrs. Kizer was born on December 13, 1931 in Andersonville, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson and Lillie Gladys Justice Athon. She was the wife of Vernard J. "Jim" Kizer who preceded her in death on October 27, 2009. In 1993, Grace retired from the mail room at Maury Regional Medical Center. She was a member and very active at the Santa Fe Methodist Church.

Mrs. Kizer is survived by a son, Kevin Becky Kizer of Culleoka; a daughter Karen Kevin Barnes of Columbia; four grandchildren, Kristen Paul Earnest of Lebanon, Kelly Kizer and Kayla Kizer both of Culleoka and Bobby Evan Barnes of Columbia; great-grandson, James Robert Earnest of Lebanon; a sister, Geraldine Watts of Americus, GA; a brother, Terrell Edith Athon of Americus, GA; sisters-in-law, Billie Athon and Betty Bendimere both of Americus, GA; and many special nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Athon and Bill Athon, sister, Kate Dillard and brothers-in-law, Jesse Watts and Riley Dillard.

A memorial service for Mrs. Kizer will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the Arbors Pavilion of Polk Memorial Gardens with Rev. Joe Bowers officiating.

The Kizer Family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.
