Gordon Wilson Nichols

Mr. Gordon Wilson Nichols, 64 , died Friday April 30, 2004 at his residence on Union Place.

Funeral services for Mr. Nichols will be conducted Monday, May 3, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Reverend Bob Vassar officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors being provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Moundville, Alabama native was the son of the late Wilson Agee Nichols and Inez Wyatt Nichols Odom. He was the husband of Peggy Kelley Nichols of Columbia. He was a retired storeroom employee at Union Carbide Corportation. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1959 until 1962. He was a former member of Herbert Griffin American Legion Post # 19. He was a long-time member of the Columbia Bowling Association. He attended Pleasant Heights Baptist Church where he was a member of Good News Sunday School Class.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Mark Deana Nichols of Columbia, TN and Randall Tracy Nichols Of Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Michael Nichols and Brittany Nichols both of Columbia, TN, Holly Nichols of Flatwoods, TN; three brothers, Milton Brenda Nichols of Jacksonville, Fl, Gary Terri Odom of Columbus, OH, and Kenny Linda Odom of Columbia, TN.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Odom.

Pallbearers will be Michael Nichols, Darren Nichols, Jeff Neighbors, Keith Runions, Eddie Dean Kelley, and George Hinton.
