Gloria E. Rivera

Ms. Gloria Esther Rivera was born on June 3, 1924 in Aibonito, Puerto Rico. She was the daughter of the late Catalino Rivera and Felicita Miranda. Gloria had worked as a telephone operator and also had been a maid at the Holiday Inn. She was a member of the Disciples of Christ.

Gloria is survived by her children, Israel Angela Berrios of Hachensack, New Jersey, Ana Aponte of Thompson Station, Tennessee, John Berrios of Spring Hill, Tennessee, Raquel Santiago of Hawthorne, New York and Damaris Brian Water of Cartersville, Georgia; her grandchildren, Israel Berrios, Jr., Dorene Webb, Irene Loescher, Ana Payne, Ruth Enid Aponte, Joshua Waters and Katie Ann Smith; and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David Berrios.

Gloria passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2011, at NHC of Columbia.

Ms. Rivera's Family will receive friends Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 12 Noon at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. Graveside service will will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.

Ms. Rivera's Family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of NHC of Columbia for the care they showed to our mother.
