Gladys Potts Brooks

February 6, 1925 — February 22, 2003

Mrs. Gladys Louise Potts Brooks, 78, widow of Robert G. Brooks and a resident of Snow Creek Road in the Santa Fe Community, died Saturday, February 22, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mrs. Brooks will be conducted Wednesday, February 26, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Williams Columbia Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Fox, Rev. Gary Fewell and Rev. Kenneth Andrews officiating. Burial will be in Potts Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday and Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Rollie and Bessie Hutcherson Potts. She was a homemaker and a member of the Elmore Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by one son, R.B. Mary Lou Brooks of the Santa Fe Community; one sister, Della Mae Thomas Adkisson of Wiliamsport; one brother, James Ruby Potts of Columbia; one grandson, Robert Andrew Michelle Brooks of the Theta Community; two half-sisters, Helen Boyd Malugin and Daisy Fred McCord of the Santa Fe Community; four half-brothers, Wallace Potts of Hillsboro, Roy Melvie Potts of Santa Fe Community; Mac Shirley Potts of the Theta Community, Emerson Paulette Potts of the Water Valley Community; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Billy Ray Brooks.

Active Pallbearers will be Robert A. Brooks, J.W. Brooks, Randell Adkisson, Dean Adkisson, Brian Adkisson, and Shane Adkisson.
