Gladys O Cornett

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gladys Ollie Cornett of Lawrenceburg, TN. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, who passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025, at the age of 89. Gladys was a woman of unwavering faith, whose life was a testament to the power and grace of God.

Gladys had a servant’s heart and lived a life of service, always willing to help others in need. Her compassionate heart and gentle spirit made a tremendous impact on countless lives.

While we mourn her loss, we find comfort in knowing that she is now resting in the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ. She leaves behind a legacy of love, forgiveness and service that will inspire many for generations to come.

Gladys is survived by her children - Charles Cornett (Mary Lou) and Melody Phillips (Barry); step-son - Charles Cornett (Tina); grandchildren – Toby Phillips, Christina Hamilton, Kelly Staggs, Jesse Phillips, Logan Cornett, L. D. Cornett and Shelby Veater; 16 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren; brothers – Bill Sherwood and John Sherwood (Bonnie); sisters – Rosalee Moore and Teresa Hudson (Randy); brother-in-law – Arthur Cornett; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. She was preceded in death by her parents – LaMoine and Lela Sherwood; brothers – Durward Sherwood (Juanita) and Omer Sherwood (Margie); brother-in-law – Danny Moore; sisters – Anna Woods, Mary Sluss (Willard), Eileen Cornett; sister-in-law Mary Ann Sherwood.

She will be laid to rest at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Minford, OH on May 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.

Donations can be made to Nazarene Compassionate Ministries or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in lieu of flowers.
