Gertrude "Trudy" Brown

Gertrude "Trudy" White Hoffman Brown was born April 25, 1929 in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the late Charles E. Hoffman and Beulah P. White Hoffman. On August 3, 1951 she married Cdr. Seth E. Brown, USN Ret., who resides in Mt. Pleasant.

Trudy was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in the Korean War and so deeply proud of her military service. She served as a communications specialist with the U.S. Navy as well as the Internal Revenue Service. Trudy was totally devoted to her husband, Seth and to her children. She was a multi-talented and gifted person, having spent time studying at the Houston Conservatory of Music. Trudy, along with Seth, was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Pleasant.

Mrs. Brown passed away on Tuesday morning, September 13, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Survivors in addition to her husband, include her children, Seth E. Brown, Jr., of Nashville, Sara Kathryn Charles Daunhauer of Shreveport, LA, Michael R. Brown of Mt. Pleasant and Charles K. Brown of Trion, GA; grandchildren, Jennifer David Lind-Westbrook of Savannah, GA, AN Seth M. Brown, USN, Pensacola, FL, Stephen M. Brown of Nashville, Christopher L. Brown of Mt. Pleasant and Laura Beth Brown of Lewisburg.

Funeral services for Mrs. Brown will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Emily Barker officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the United States Navy.

The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the church.

Pallbearers will be Charles Daunhauer, James W. Malugin, Neal W. England, Jr., Earl Pettus, Jerry Colvett and Wayne Bass.

Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant is assisting the family with their services.
