Gerald F. Jerry Shew, age 62, resident of Malibu Canyon Drive in Columbia, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Maury Regional Hospital.
A Memorial service will be conducted Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Catherine s Catholic Church with Rev. Clare J. Hendricks officiating.
The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home of Columbia.
Born October 14, 1948 in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Grover Shew and Jane Toasten Shew . He was the husband of Diane Mathieu Shew. Jerry was a machinist for over 30 years and his last employment was a supervisor and also a machinist with Marshall Manufacturing in Lewisburg. In his early life, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Jerry had a green thumb, anything he planted would grow. He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Terry Cook of Connecticut, Gary Cook and Frank Cook of PA, Erick Shew and Ashley Shew of Columbia; six grandchildren: brothers and sisters: Bob Shew, Terry Shew, Gary Shew, Peggy Laymen, Kayann Hansen, Randy Shew, Ricky Shew and Kelly Faust of PA.
