Georgia Ann Lentz Cook, age 78, of Mt Pleasant Tennessee, passed away on September 9, 2019, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Georgia was born on March 24, 1941, in Culleoka, Tennessee to George W and Emma Lois McKissick Lentz. She was of the Church of Christ faith. She worked in retail for many years, first at Roses and then went on to retire from JC Penney. Georgia always wanted to be outside enjoying the sunshine, especially in her flower beds. She also grew her favorite flowers, African Violets. She often went country dancing at Briar Batch with Jerry. She would also go shopping every Friday with Randi and Hunter and sometimes Chloe and Abigail, where she would meet her many friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who was lovingly known by the name “Nanny.”
Georgia is survived by her companion of 21 years: Jerry Hickman; son: Terry (Tammy) Cook of Mt Pleasant; daughter: Anita “Sissy” (Dwight) Brown of Loretto, Tennessee; daughter: Jennifer (Cheyenne) McNeese of Columbia; granddaughters: Randi (Gregg) Gibbs, Tabatha Townsend, and Chloe Ann McNeese; grandsons: Ricky (Heleyna) Cook, Robbie Burdick, Justin Cook and Brennan McNeese; great-great-grandchildren: Abigail Denton, Aiden Burdick, Stella Townsend, Hunter Gibbs, Braylon Cook and Bradyn Cook; and her beloved dog, Jak. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, James (JT) Cook, Jr.
Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, September 11, 2019, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home, Mt Pleasant. Services will be September 12, 2019, at 10:00 AM with Bro. Brian Gregory and grandson, Brennan McNeese officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery.
Active pallbearers are Cheyenne McNeese, Dwight Brown, Ricky Cook, Justin Cook, Robbie Burdick, and Brennan McNeese.
Honorary pallbearers are Friends of Sandy Hook Community, past employees of Roses and JC Penney.
