George Washington Whitwell, Sr.

Mr. George Washington Whitwell, Sr., 81 , a resident of Mt. Joy Road in Mt. Pleasant, died Sunday, January 30, 2005 at his residence.
Funeral service for Mr. Whitwell will be conducted Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Joy Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Dwight Lyles officiating. Burial will be in the Bailey Cemetery with military honors provided by the Tennessee National Guard. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home.
The Maury County native was the son of late Henry Lee and Jeanie Pearl King Whitwell and husband of the late Mary Imogene Matthis Whitwell. He was a retired mechanic with Stauffer Chemical and a member of the Mt. Joy Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by three sons, Bruce Lee Pauline Whitwell, David Brian Gena Whitwell and George W. Whitwell, Jr., all of Mt. Pleasant; four grandsons, Jonas Kelly Whitwell of Columbia, Ryan Lee Rebecca Whitwell of Summertown, Chris Brittney Whitwell of Lewisburg and Joshua Nana Haywood of California; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Kate Kevin Boshers of Mt. Pleasant; three great grand children, Kyle Boshers of Mt. Pleasant, Noah Whitwell and Gracelyn Whitwell, both of Columbia.
Pallbearers will be Jonas Whitwell, Ryan Whitwell, Chris Whitwell, Wayne Whitwell, Clifford King Jr., Doug King, Gary King and Herman King. Honorary pallbearers will be men of the Mt. Joy Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Memorials may be made to the Mt. Joy Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
