George Ralph Eslinger, Jr., a resident of Walnut Lane in Columbia, passed away on Monday, May 3, 2010, at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.
Funeral services for George will be conducted Wednesday, May 5, at 6:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rick Points officiating. Burial will be on Thursday at 2:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time at the Hills Union Cemetery in Dandridge, TN.
The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. until time of service at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home and after 1:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time on Thursday at the Hills Union United Methodist Church in Dandridge.
George was born on March 2, 1948 in Dandridge, TN, the son of the late George Ralph Eslinger, Sr., and Jewel Margaret Lane Eslinger. He was the husband of Frances Pigg Dickson of Columbia. George was retired from Purdy Brothers Trucking and was a well known cattle farmer and licensed auctioneer. He loved all kinds of animals. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Dandridge.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his children: B.J. Doughty of Nashville, Royal Robin Dickson of Lynnville and Lori Scotty Stockard of Columbia; granddaughter: Breanna Dickson of Lynnville; one brother: Gary Eslinger of Dandridge; niece and nephew: Julie Eslinger and Steve Eslinger, both of Dandridge; step-sons: Richard Hammett of Merritt Island, FL and David Hammett of Murfreesboro; step-grandchildren: Christopher Hammett, Matthew Hammett and Ethan Hammett, all of FL.
