George F. Conner

July 13, 1934 — January 6, 2006

Mr. George F. Conner, 71, a resident of the Lawrenceburg Highway in Mt. Pleasant, passed away Friday, January 6, 2006 at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Conner will be conducted, Tuesday January 10, 2006 at 2:00 pm at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Elder Glenn Beard officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born in Maury County, he was the son of the late Elton F. and Bessie Cates Conner and the husband of Norman Jean Toseland Conner. Mr. Conner was a retired truck driver for Menasha Corp. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. His hobbies were gardening, working in the yard, loved Friday night auction and Saturday night wrestling. He was of Church of Christ faith.

In addition to his wife he is survived by seven daughters, Chrislynn Conner, Roasie Conner, Judy Maurice Bills Conner, Cynthia James Bennett, Ruby Johnny Kennedy Hutt all of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Linda Michael Williams of Ashland City, TN, Norman Jean Conner of Ashland City, TN; two sons, Danny Conner of Mt. Pleasant, TN and George Conner, Jr. of Ashland City, TN ; a sister, Gladys Thomsen of Columbia, TN; very special loving grandchildren, Vincent Melissa Baugh Conner, Brittany Conner, Cory Conner, Demo Conner, Jerry Conner, Antonio Cathey, Steven Conner, Cody Hutt, Alyssa Hutt, Michael Conner, Christopher Conner, Chasity Williams, Julisa Williams, Vernon Edward Williams, Steven Williams, David Joseph Conner presently station in Iraq, Santana Conner; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two daughter, Brenda Lee Conner Ethel Jake Conner; a grandson, Steven Ray Newman; five brothers and four sisters;

Pallbearers will be William Brown, Raymond Conner, Jimmy Harvell, Larry McNabb, David Harvell, Ernest Faulkner, Leo Conner, Darryl Lovett, Billy Lovett and Dough Cathey.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends at Freddie Auction, friends of the Saturday night wrestling and former co-workers at Menasha Corp.
