Mr. George E. Stewart, 69, a resident of Morgan Springs Rd. in Columbia died Friday, January 17, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mr. Stewart will be conducted Monday, January 20, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Williams Columbia Funeral Home with Rev. Russell Ward and Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 3:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of late Arch and Savannah Nolan Stewart and the husband of Sadie Ruth Hunt Stewart. He worked for Pestco Systems and retired from Terminex as an inspector. He was a member of Union Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters; Glenda Joe Davis York of Williamsport, Donna Ricky Davis Warren and Audrey Wendell McNabb Chambers, both of Columbia; a son, Eddie Lisa Davis of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters; Nellie Stewart Cates and Ruthie Stewart Howell, both of Williamsport and a brother, Samuel Stewart of Columbia; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Flora Louise Stewart and Fannie Mae Stewart Patterson; three brothers, James, Herbert and Richard Stewart.
Pallbearers will be Steven R. Connell, Jonathan Reese, Ricky Warren, Cody Davis, David Harris, Joe York and Bobby Neese.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Russell Berschied, Dr. Terri Lord, J.B. Napier, Enoch George, Bro. Charles Bradley and Rick Points.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
