George Ray Dunlap, age 75, of Ethridge, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville.
George was the son of George and Ellen Elizabeth Spyker Dunlap and was born on June 26, 1939 in Flat Rock, Illinois. He was a veteran of the armed forces of the United States and had worked as a boilermaker and welder for thirty-five years. He was a very hard worker.
Mr. Dunlap was married to Jacqueline S. Mathews Dunlap since July of 1972 and they had forty-two years together. He loved his kids, especially his grandchildren and was known to be very generous and helpful to people. He genuinely loved people.
George is survived by his wife: Jackie S. Mathews Dunlap of Ethridge; children: Jeremy (Jen) Dunlap, Jonathon (Sheona) Dunlap and Janna (Steve) Postol; grandchildren: Brooke Dunlap, Megan Dunlap; siblings: Sarah (Bob) Shidler, Doris LaBuda, James (Sandy) Dunlap, Charles Dunlap, Naomi (Brian) Leatherwood and Janice Shelton; sister-in-law: Judy Dunlap; and multiple nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: George and Ellen Elizabeth Spyker Dunlap; sisters: Annie (Bill) Cox and Nancy Dunlap; and brother: John Dunlap.
The family will celebrate Mr. Dunlap’s life with a memorial service at a later date.
