George Alton Henson

May 26, 1935 — December 28, 2005

Mr. George Alton Henson, 70, a resident of Hidden Acres Nursing Home in Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday at the nursing home.

Funeral services for Mr. Henson will be conducted Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Reverend Ezell Rose officiating. Burial will be in the Pisgah Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 until service time at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the son of the late Thomas Luther Henson and Henrietta ?Reddie? Hunt Henson McClure. He was a retired shredder operator for Tennessee Aluminum. He loved to play Bingo.

He is survived by sister, Allie McNabb of Mt. Pleasant; six nieces, Peggy McNabb of Hampshire, Ann Grover Chapman and Stella Ray Runions, Kathleen Darryl Massey, Phylis Henson all of Mt. Pleasant and Doris Johns of Columbia; six nephews, Elmer McNabb of Summertown, Thomas Cathy McNabb and Roy Wayne Henson, both of Mt. Pleasant, Freddie Maggie McNabb of Hohenwald, Carl Donna McNabb and Joe Mary Jane McNabb, both of Hampshire; several great nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Annie Henson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dovie Runions; two brothers, Thomas L. Henson and James ?Jimmy? Henson; half-sisters, Una Gilmore, Maggie Adams, Edith Marshall; half-brothers, Marcus Henson and Clarence Henson.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the workers of Tennessee Aluminum and the staff of Hidden Acres Nursing Home.

Memorials may be made to the Hidden Acres Activity Department.
