Geneva Lorene Harrington

Mrs. Geneva Lorene Owens Harrington, 78, a resident of West 13th Street in Columbia, died Friday, October 29, 2004 at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mrs. Harrington will be conducted Sunday, October 31, 2004, at 2:00 pm at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Gene Shelton, Rev. Brian Weisinger and Rev. Rock Jaggers. Burial will follow in the Neapolis Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born in Florence, AL, she was the daughter of the late Cellie and Vera Schrader Owens and wife of the late Mayhue Harrington. She was a devoted Christian mother, grandmother and friend. Mrs. Harrington worked in the clothing industry for 30 years and even after a depilating stroke where she lost the use of her right side and her speech, she taught herself to draw with her left hand and drew pictures and artwork for all those she loved. She was truly a living testimony for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to who she has descended.

She is survived by her church family at Grace Church of the Nazarene and by five children, Dennis Linda Harrington of Columbia, Hue Ann Randy Hedrick of Birmingham, Alabama, Brenda Davis of Lawrenceburg, Danny Harrington of Columbia and Michael Harrington of Summertown; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Waverly Jackson of Columbia, Missy Tracy Jones of Columbia, Tish Harrington of Nashville, Michelle Harrington of Summertown, Burt Davis of Lawrenceburg, Jonathan Davis of Lawrenceburg, Michael Mikey Harrington of Columbia and Danny Harrington of Hohenwald; five great grandchildren; an aunt, Della Harrington of Columbia. She was preceded in death by her brother, Virgil Owens.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Powell, Vance Owens, Michael Hedrick, Mike Grate, Bob Anderson and Eddie Estes. Honorary pallbearers will be Marie Hickman, Deb Anderson, Diane Hancock, Christine Owens, Jenni Mills, Ruby Stone, Hershell and Faye Currie.
