Mrs. Geneva Odell Holden Kennedy, 84, a resident of North High Street in Mt. Pleasant, died Saturday, August 7, 2004 at Hidden Acres Nursing Home.
Funeral services for Mrs. Kennedy will be conducted Tuesday August 10, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Reverend Charles Boyd officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Lawrence County native was the daughter of late James and Ada Holloway Holden. She was a retired CNA from Hillview Health Care. Mrs. Kennedy was a former owner and operator at the South Main Café in Mt. Pleasant. She was a homemaker and loved her grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by her children, Deane Jimmy Hendrix and Jerry L Darlene Kennedy both of Mt. Pleasant, TN; three grandsons, Richard Kennedy of Nashville, TN, Reece Colvett of Mt. Pleasant, TN and Mitch Sabrina Hendrix of Summertown, TN; two loving granddaughters, Shannon Workman, Connie Jason Hyatt and two other granddaughters, Nikki Bruce McKennon and Andrea Johnny Cates all of Mt. Pleasant, TN; four special great-grandchildren, Stacia Mckennon, Jacob Hyatt, Paige Colvett, Brandon Workman and seven other great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Freddy Arnold Kennedy; a daughter, Shirley Colvett; a great-granddaughter, Kayla Colvett.
Pallbearers will be Richard Kennedy, Reece Colvett, Brandon Workman, Jacob Hyatt, Logan Hendrix, Jerico McKennon, Jason Hyatt and Mitch Hendrix.
Honorary pallbearers will be nurses and staff of Hidden Acres Health Care, special friends; Linda Johnson Fitzgerald and Linda Davis and a special child, Tristan ?Little Man? Hyatt.
