Gene Perry Norman

Mr. Gene Perry Norman, age 77, a resident of Birchwood Drive in Columbia passed away Saturday July 19, at his residence.
Funeral services for Mr. Norman will be conducted, Monday July 21, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Reverend Ezell Rose officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 4:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
The Giles County native was the son of the late Sam and Lena Cummins Norman. He was the husband of Ann Catherine Dial Norman of Columbia. Mr. Norman retired from Conalco in the shipping department and he also worked for several years as a truck driver for Foremost Dairies. He loved being with his family. He loved meeting people and was a member of the McDonald's -Wal-Mart Club. He was a member of the Riverview Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children: Debbie Mac Palmer , Tereasa Jerry Sullivan, Randall "Randy" Gene Norman and Tammy Robert Hatcher all of Columbia; six grandchildren: Jason Palmer, Lee Sullivan, Michael Shane Sullivan, Katie Hatcher, Jamie Hatcher Vandergriff and Robert Hatcher, Jr; five great-grandchildren: Ashley Sullivan, Elizabeth Sullivan, Steven Michael Sullivan, Courtney Hatcher and Malynne Vandergriff; three brothers: Roy Martha Norman, Floyd Carolyn Norman and Bobby Minnie Norman all of Columbia; two sisters: Leona Lyons and Linda Hendrix both of Columbia.
He was preceded in death by one grandson: Stephen Perry Sullivan; two sisters: Pauline Pope and Dot Adams; four brothers: Clarence Norman, R. L. Norman, Howard Norman and James Hubert Norman.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Sullivan, Mac Palmer, Randy Norman, Bobby Hatcher, Dale Dillehay and Josh Balcewicz.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Lunn, Howard Lemay, Frank Sealy, Marvin Fautt, Jerry Wile, Billy Haynes, former employees of Conalco and Foremost Dairies, and other friends from McDonald's - Wal-Mart Club.
