Joy GayNell Davis, age 82, of Mount Pleasant, Tennessee passed away at her home with her loving husband by her side.
GayNell was born on February 19, 1936 in Leoma, Tennessee to the late Dallas and Elizabeth Keener. Gaynell and John married July 1, 1956. Gaynell was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a devoted Christian who lived her life every day for Christ. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Pleasant. She loved making homemade sourdough bread and sharing it with her friends and family. She was well known in the community for operating GayNell’s Family Daycare. She provided many children with love and care throughout several years.
GayNell is survived by her husband: John Davis; son: Tim Davis; grandsons: Wesley and Logan Davis; great grandchildren: Taittumn Davis, Justin Davis and Mitchell Stratton; brothers: Charlie Keener and Ethridge (Carolyn) Keener as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents GayNell was preceded in death by her sons: Randall and Gary Davis and grandsons: Joshua and Ryan Davis.
The family will visit with friends on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant. Interment will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers include members of the Davis family as well as friends of the family. Honorary pallbearers are past and present members of the Maury Regional Ambulance Service.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Mount Pleasant Lion’s Club and First Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant.
