Gary Lee Mckennon Sr.

Gary Lee McKennon, Sr., age 73, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, in Columbia, Tennessee.

Gary was born on June 17, 1949, to the late Johnnie and Ruth McKennon in Maury County, Tennessee.

Gary believed in hard work and dedicated many years to Tennessee Aluminum Processors as a Supervisor. When he had some downtime, he would enjoy the wonders of the outdoors. Whether it was hunting or fishing, Gary could spend whole days waiting for his big catch or game.

Above all else, Gary cherished his family. He loved the memories he spent with his children and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter: Lesa McKennon; mother of his children: Debbie McKennon; children: Kristin (Scott) Hall, Gary “Scooter” (Courtney) McKennon, and Miranda McKennon Staggs; grandchildren: Presley McKennon, Cameron Staggs, Danika Hall; and siblings: Michael McKennon and Donna Johnny Potts.

In addition to his parents, Gary is preceded in death by his grandparents: Inez and Bud McKennon, and Octavia and Raymond Henson; sisters: Barbara Heflin, and Janice Gail McKennon; and son-in-law: Jay Staggs.

The family will receive friends and visitors at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant on Friday, September 30, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service for Mr. Gary will be held Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 11:00 AM, with one hour of visitation prior. Bro. Dickey Lindsey will be officiating. To follow, Mr. Gary will be laid to rest at Ebenezer Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, TN.

Pallbearers will be Bradley Boshers, Jack Patterson, Buddy McKennon, Scott Hall, Terry Boshers, and Ronnie “Goathead” Russell. Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren and the employees of McKennon’s Concrete & Excavating.
