Gary Eugene Hay was born December 4, 1959 in Maury County, the son of Howard Wesley Hay, Sr., and the late Mildred Chapman Hay. He was the husband of the late Sharon Bryant Hay. Gary had worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Maury County Highway Department before he opened his own repair shop. Gary's enjoyed spending time outside, his most favorite past times were "old cars and Harleys" and his family.
Survivors in addition to his father include his sisters, Tammy Gary Pruitt of Hampshire and Sheila Wayne Martin of Santa Fe; brothers, Darryl "Winnie" Hay of Santa Fe and Mike Phyllis Hay of Columbia; half-brother, Howard Wesley Billie Hay, Jr., and half-sisters, Elaine Hay Vic Morsette of Pegram and Carolyn Walker of Murfreesboro; nieces and nephews, Joey Hay of Santa Fe, Matthew Pruitt of Hampshire, Sabrina Pruitt of Hampshire, Steven Hay of Murfreesboro and Cheyenne Martin of Santa Fe along with two great-nephews, John and Camron Hay.
Funeral services for Gary will be conducted Friday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Donald Pruitt officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Pruitt, Joey Hay, Rusty Baker, Steven Hay, Corey Medley, and Ricky Thompson officiating.
