Gaines Marshall Farr, Jr. departed this earthly realm on September 20, 2023, in Culleoka, Tennessee, to join his Lord and Savior in eternal peace. He was born on November 3, 1951, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Gaines Farr Sr. and Alma Farr Brown.
Marshall, as he was affectionately known, was a beloved father, grandfather, and devoted husband, leaving behind cherished memories with his family that will forever be etched in their hearts. His infectious sense of humor and love for laughter brought warmth and joy to the lives of those who knew him. He had an uncanny ability to make everyone around him smile and was a constant source of light in their lives.
One of Marshall's great passions in life was classic cars. He had an extraordinary knowledge of these timeless vehicles and could regale anyone with fascinating stories and trivia about them. His enthusiasm for classic cars was infectious, and he inspired many to appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship of these automotive works of art.
Above all, Marshall's unwavering faith in the Lord was a cornerstone of his life. He was a devout Christian who found solace and strength in his relationship with God. His love for the Lord was not only evident in his words but also in his actions, as he lived a life of kindness, compassion, and grace.
Marshall's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. However, his memory will continue to shine brightly through the countless stories, jokes, and moments of love and laughter that he shared with his family and friends.
Marshall is preceded in his passing by his parents.
Marshall is survived by his dedicated wife: Maxcine Farr; children: Katrina (Stephen) and Chad (Lori Beth); sisters: Barbara Henderson and Diane Farr Hayes; and grandchildren: Lisci Farr Lemay and Elliott Farr.
A service for Marshall will be on Friday, September 22, 2023, at 4:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee with Dan Buie officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 22, 2023, at 2:00 PM to the start of the service at Williams Funeral Home. American Legion Post 19 will be rendering military honors.
